One session lasts twelve to twenty-four months, varying by product. Covering a wide area needs a lot of volume, so it is usually built up across several sessions rather than placed all at once. Splitting it reduces the swelling burden and lets the balance between sides be adjusted as you go.

Downtime is mild at one to three days, and bruising can occur, because skin around the collarbone is thin with bone right beneath, so needle marks show easily. Exercise using the shoulders heavily can displace the filler before it settles, so it is best to rest for a week.

Hyaluronic acid filler can be reversed with a dissolving injection. A large volume goes into a wide area here, though, so it may not all dissolve in one pass and can take several visits. Adjusting just one side partially is also possible.
