One session lasts twelve to twenty-four months, varying by product. The curve returns as soon as it goes in and is then absorbed gradually. The forehead and temples move relatively little, so the filler does not disperse, and it lasts even when spread thinly across a wide area.

Downtime is mild at one to three days, with swelling and bruising for a few days. Large vessels run through the area, so a blunt-tipped cannula is often used because it pushes vessels aside rather than piercing them. Heat can worsen swelling, so skip the sauna for a week.

Hyaluronic acid filler can be reversed with a dissolving injection. The forehead covers a wide area, though, so the volume placed tends to be large, and it may not all dissolve in one pass, requiring several visits. Adjusting the amount in just one part is also possible.
